Sand plant operator — Alachua County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Alachua County, Florida. You will work on the moulding line. Day to day you will assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale. You should have: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection 3+ years on the tools preferred. $4,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
