Argon welder wanted in Haines Borough

We are recruiting: we are hiring an argon welder in Haines Borough, Alaska. You should have: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight You will inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle. Full-time with occasional weekends. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. $230 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
