Vacancy available: we are hiring a panel welder in Montgomery County, Maryland. The job is at a pipe and tank fabrication yard. The role involves check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; grind back and re-weld any defective runs; read fabrication drawings and weld symbols; lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints; set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently 2+ years on the tools preferred.
