Immediate opening: we are hiring a banksman in Hillsborough County, Florida. The job is at a shipyard. Day to day you will carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle; guide loads through tight openings into their final position; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces $3,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
