Now hiring: we are hiring a metal caster in Nome Census Area, Alaska. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection You will carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time, day shift. Contact us to fix an interview.
