Join our team: we are hiring a meat trimmer in Piscataquis County, Maine. The job is at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. What we are looking for: • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling The role involves mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case. At least 1 year(s) in a similar role. $3,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
