Steel erection rigger — Lake County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Lake County, Michigan. You should have: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles On a typical shift you will carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area.
