Requirements: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings On the job you will handle: • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp Rotating shifts.
