Great opportunity: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Day County, South Dakota. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. Ideal candidate: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Basic grinding and fettling skills On a typical shift you will fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch.
