Now hiring: we are hiring a construction helper in Tipton County, Indiana. The job is on a residential housing site. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit and comfortable working at height • Prior experience as a labourer on building or civil sites • Site safety induction or labour card an advantage Your main tasks: • Break out old walls and concrete with a jackhammer breaker • Backfill and ram down soil around the foundations • Hand tools and materials up to workers on the upper floors • Set out levels with line and plumb under the mason's direction • Cure freshly laid concrete by sprinkling water for several days • Mix concrete and mortar to the correct ratio, by hand or in a pan mixer Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
