Confectioner — Fairfax County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a confectioner in Fairfax County, Virginia. You will work at a cake shop. Day to day you will decorate cakes with icing, fondant and fresh cream; boil sugar syrup for glazes and icing; grease and clean baking trays, tins and moulds; monitor oven temperature and baking time for each batch; keep work surfaces and equipment clean to food-safety standards; laminate puff and croissant dough by folding in the butter. Requirements: • 2+ years' experience as a baker • Able to stand for long hours in a hot kitchen • Knowledge of dough fermentation and proving 6+ years on the tools preferred.
