Immediate opening: furnace operator (Georgia)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a furnace operator in Miller County, Georgia. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts On a typical shift you will inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces. 5+ years on the tools preferred. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
