Sample machinist — Fairfax County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a sample machinist in Fairfax County, Virginia. Ideal candidate: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown On a typical shift you will keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges.
