Argon welder wanted in Kalawao County

Vacancy available: we are hiring an argon welder in Kalawao County, Hawaii. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Ideal candidate: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection Day to day you will weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding.
