You should have: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height The role involves clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions. 1+ years on the tools preferred.
