Immediate opening: we are hiring a blocklayer in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. You will checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; forming arches, piers and reveals around openings. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
