Industrial sewing operator • Cumberland County, Maine

Great opportunity: we are hiring an industrial sewing operator in Cumberland County, Maine. You will work in a textile and apparel unit. Day-to-day duties: • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges You should have: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance Six days a week, one day off.
