Sand plant operator wanted in Greene County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Greene County, Illinois. The role involves: • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity You should have: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor 3+ years on the tools preferred.
