On a typical shift you will service the traction motor, brake and gearbox; fill in the service logbook and statutory inspection paperwork; respond to entrapment call-outs and release trapped passengers; top up the oil and bleed the cylinder on hydraulic lifts; install guide rails, brackets and counterweight frames in the hoistway; run load and overload tests with test weights.
