Great opportunity: we are hiring a steel fixer in Barnwell County, South Carolina. The job is on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. Requirements: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites Day to day you will read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
