Natural gas fitter — Buchanan County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a natural gas fitter in Buchanan County, Virginia. The job is at a heating and plumbing contractor. On the job you will handle: • Carry out tightness (pressure) tests with a manometer and lock off the supply • Fit flexible connection hoses and bayonet fittings to the appliances • Install gas meters, regulators and isolation valves • Run polyethylene (PE) service pipe and electrofusion-weld the joints • Braze copper gas lines and weld carbon-steel pipe joints • Install flue and chimney terminals and check for adequate ventilation Requirements: • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces • Sound knowledge of gas safety regulations and pressure testing • Valid gas fitter's licence and Gas Safe (or local) registration At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. $15 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
