Great opportunity: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Hamilton County, Indiana. Requirements: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection On a typical shift you will weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle.
