On a typical shift you will select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run. Requirements: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
