Join our team: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Decatur County, Iowa. The job is in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. Your main tasks: • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings 5+ years on the tools preferred. $20 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
