Immediate opening: we are hiring a counter butcher in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Day to day you will trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case; keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled. You should have: • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • 2+ years experience working as a butcher We offer $3,100 per month plus benefits.
