We are recruiting: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in County Durham, England. Day to day you will weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; carry out 6G pipe welds where required. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight We offer £2,550 per month plus benefits.
