Great opportunity: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Ashe County, North Carolina. The job is at an automotive body and exhaust shop. What we are looking for: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces On a typical shift you will clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer. Rotating shifts. $3,400 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
