Requirements: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard Day to day you will weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec.
