Vacancy available: garment machinist (Virginia)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a garment machinist in Bland County, Virginia. You will work on an export house sewing floor. Day-to-day duties: • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality You should have: • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance $3,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
