Now hiring: we are hiring a sheet metal welder in Saint Louis County, Minnesota. The job is in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. The role involves run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal. Ideal candidate: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection $4,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
