Pipe tig welder • Northwest Arctic Borough, Alaska

We are recruiting: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Northwest Arctic Borough, Alaska. You will be based at a stainless steel fabrication shop. The role involves: • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator Ideal candidate: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection 6+ years on the tools preferred.
