Immediate opening: we are hiring a banksman in Harlan County, Nebraska. Day-to-day duties: • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads You should have: • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
