Now hiring: we are hiring a mobile crane operator in Lowndes County, Alabama. You will work at a shipbuilding yard. Your main tasks: • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure • Carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block • Watch the load moment indicator (LMI) and stay within rated capacity • Read and interpret the load chart before every lift • Hoist, slew and lower loads smoothly and under control • Fill in the daily logbook and raise defect reports You should have: • Valid crane operator licence or certificate (CPCS, NPORS or local equivalent) • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging At least 1 year(s) in a similar role. $27 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
