Sand plant operator — Shawnee County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Shawnee County, Kansas. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Your main tasks: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity You should have: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection 2+ years on the tools preferred.
