Immediate opening: we are hiring an industrial sewing operator in Sangamon County, Illinois. On a typical shift you will topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance. Ideal candidate: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Pay around $2,500 per month, based on your experience.
