We are recruiting: we are hiring a gas metal arc welder in Audubon County, Iowa. The job is on a structural steel site. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Willing to work shifts and overtime • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings The role involves: • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator • Bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols • Load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness 3+ years on the tools preferred.
