Reinforcement steel fixer • Newport, Wales

We are recruiting: we are hiring a reinforcement steel fixer in Newport, Wales. You will be based on a commercial tower construction site. On a typical shift you will install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing. Requirements: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
