Immediate opening: we are hiring a rigger in Columbus County, North Carolina. The job is at a shipyard. On the job you will handle: • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area • Coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller • Check sling angles to stay within the working load limit • Rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position What we are looking for: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles 1+ years on the tools preferred.
