Immediate opening: we are hiring a concrete worker in Greene County, Georgia. You will work at a precast concrete yard. Requirements: • Comfortable working at heights and on scaffolds • Able to work to tight pour schedules and night pours • Able to read structural drawings and bar bending schedules Your main tasks: • Compact fresh concrete with immersion poker vibrators to clear honeycombing • Cut control and expansion joints at the correct spacing • Cure slabs by ponding, wet hessian or curing compound for the required days • Screed and level slabs to the marked dead level and falls • Lay PCC blinding and the damp-proof membrane over the prepared subgrade Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $3,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
