Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Potter County, Pennsylvania. You will work in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. What we are looking for: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection Day to day you will select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise.
