What we are looking for: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces Day-to-day duties: • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding 1+ years on the tools preferred.
