Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Dickenson County, Virginia. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. On the job you will handle: • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job What we are looking for: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height 3+ years on the tools preferred.
