Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Sedgwick County, Kansas. The job is at a busy fabrication workshop. The role involves strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding. Ideal candidate: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard Six days a week, one day off. Performance bonus on top of base pay. $4,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
