Now hiring: we are hiring a concrete placer in Ellsworth County, Kansas. The job is in a residential housing project. Your main tasks: • Compact fresh concrete with immersion poker vibrators to clear honeycombing • Discharge and place concrete from transit mixers and pumps into the forms • Strip and clean formwork once the concrete has gained strength • Cut control and expansion joints at the correct spacing • Cure slabs by ponding, wet hessian or curing compound for the required days • Erect and align timber and steel shuttering before each pour You should have: • ITI in masonry or civil work an added advantage • Sound knowledge of concrete grades, slump and curing periods Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
