Vacancy available: garment machinist (New York)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a garment machinist in Greene County, New York. The job is in a textile and apparel unit. The role involves trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation. Ideal candidate: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Part-time with flexible hours.
