Safety marshal • City of Portsmouth, Virginia

Vacancy available: we are hiring a safety marshal in City of Portsmouth, Virginia. The job is on a road and infrastructure project. On the job you will handle: • Carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift • Check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry • Deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors • Run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points • Run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry Ideal candidate: • NEBOSH, IOSH or a recognised OHS certificate • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations • Minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites We offer $4,700 per month plus benefits.
