Now hiring: we are hiring a sand plant operator in District of Rutland, England. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. On the job you will handle: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles What we are looking for: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. We offer £2,750 per month plus benefits. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
