Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welder in Petersburg Borough, Alaska. You will be based at an automotive body and exhaust shop. The role involves: • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing What we are looking for: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety Rotating shifts.
