Shuttering and concrete hand — Winston County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a shuttering and concrete hand in Winston County, Alabama. You will work at a precast concrete yard. Day to day you will load, hoist and barrow concrete to the upper floors; strip and clean formwork once the concrete has gained strength; set out levels with a spirit level, line and pins; give broom or steel-trowel finishes as specified; carry out slump tests and cast cubes for the lab; erect and align timber and steel shuttering before each pour. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of concrete grades, slump and curing periods • Comfortable working at heights and on scaffolds • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long hours on your feet Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
