Argon welding operator — Bath and North East Somerset

Join our team: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Bath and North East Somerset, England. What we are looking for: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination On a typical shift you will run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut.
